This morning I read an email that focused on "practicing" the things that Jesus practiced. Some of the things mentioned in the article...

- practice seclusion
- practice prayer
- practice building relationships
- practice listening
- practice love
- practice faith
- practice obedience
- practice resting
- practice kindness
- practice fitness
- practice asking questions

There were more items on the list, all of them convicting when I consider that I have not necessarilly been practicing many of them. I posted the list at my desk at work in hopes that seeing them will remind me to practice them.

Yesterday, my big boss at work mentioned to me that the two professing "Christians" were the most negative two individuals on the sales staff (I am one of them). It was a little disappointing to hear this feedback, and it is colored a little by his perspective, but it was also sobering.

Sometimes, I feel like I have walked "the mile" already that was asked of me, but I often forget that as followers of Christ, we are suppossed to walk two! Our motto at work is "Exceeding the standard!" That would be a fitting motto for Christians... one that we could live up to if we would but practice following our Master.

Some say "practice makes perfect." "Practice makes permanent" is closer to the truth. Either way, it is difficult, if not impossible to be consistent in any area or discipline without practice.

So... May you practice often and well those things you desire to live and do well!

For the glory of our King!
